There are a few ways to remove construction adhesive after you bonded two materials together.

Occasionally you may need to wipe away construction adhesive or separate two objects bonded with it such as two boards two bricks etc.
If so scrape the substance off quickly before it re hardens.
To remove the construction adhesives from your walls or floors gently scrape off the adhesive while you apply heat on the surface of your floor or wall.
Step 2 dampen a clean rag in mineral spirits paint thinner or caulk and adhesive remover.

Some adhesives can be loosened using acetone.
Pry off the tack strips with a wonder bar and use a brick chisel 3 inches wide to remove the majority of the adhesive followed up with an angle grinder to remove the remaining residue and smooth the area.
Do not dig into or scrape the sheetrock under the adhesive.
Use a razor blade or putty knife to scrape away any large clumps of pl400 construction adhesive.
Most adhesives and caulks can be scraped off when they are softened.
